Why I Decided to Heal My Gut
I cannot remember a time where my stomach did not have any problems. I never thought about my health seriously. I spent my younger years sleeping at 3:00am, missing breakfast, and eating junk foods whenever I felt like it. My younger self willingly destroyed my body and now I am paying for it.
The pain started small. Skipping a meal or two or drinking two cups of coffee leads to a little fire ignited in my tummy. During the lockdown when I have lost any semblance of control over my nutrition and well-being, the pain became unbearable. It was not a little fire anymore, it was Satan opening up the gates of hell. It woke me up almost every night.
I waited for hell to come to me before I decided to take action. I needed to heal my stomach. In my journey I was introduced to gut health and it changed my life for the better. The gut, technically, is the gastrointestinal tract or digestive system — a pathway from your mouth to your rear. “Gut Health” is the function and balance of everything that goes on there.
Gut health the foundation of optimum health and by healing your gut you can improve your metabolism, mental health, hormone balance, energy levels, skin, hair, and nails and reduce your risk of chronic disease.
We should not wait for the worse to come before we do something. As they say, prevention is always better cure. If I were to get in to a time machine, I would talk to my younger self and advise her to eat better and be better, but since all I have is the now, what I will do is to continue healing.
